Journey to the Heart #1

posted by: TaliJoy Rene Normoyle

On July 13th - 23rd I (TaliJoy) went to a Girls Journey to the Heart. Which is a retreat for young ladies to have a time of fellowship with Christ and others. A time to really draw close to our creator in the beautiful woods of Michigan. ( see more at http://iblp.org/programs/journey-heart  www.livingthejourney.com ) I had a wonderful time at the Journey. It was beautiful outside and hot inside. But sadly outside was swarmed with miniature horseflies. So it was a time to develop a grateful spirit, despite the horseflies. Anyway I was in a beautiful place having a wonderful time.  Thankfully God cooled the weather near the end of the week. Sadly, my pictures from the Journey I don't have right now. So today I will tell you a few things Christ taught me at the Journey and soon after I got home.
  1. "We don't earn God's love, I have done nothing, so why does God love me." This gave me a totally different view of Christ.  God's love is perfect. Nothing we do can lessen us from His love. Or nothing we do can make us own it. It is a gift.
  2. "We shouldn't do something expecting God to reward us for it. We do it because it pleases our 'Father'"
  3. "Sometimes we don't hear our mother's voice or authorities voice because we are distracted by something else. It is the same with Christ. What are we doing that is distracting us from hearing His voice?"
  4. "Christ helped me conquer the lie that I had no talant. He told me that I didn't and that it was His talents working through me.
  5. That being real and not whereing a mask could change someones future.
These are some of the many things I learned on the Journey. They have helped me view my relationship with Christ from a new perspective. They have also helped me understand and love Christ much better.
Hope to post more soon!
